Uptown “Stockade” Kingston businesses and shops present the third annual community-driven street fair called StockadeFaire 2021

Kingston NY August 28, 2021, NY--Uptown’s Stockade District will be transformed into a festive Autumnal block party with curated vendors and entertainment. Spearheaded by Sean B. Nutley, bluecashew and a dedicated group of neighborhood volunteers, this event offers the local Kingston community a chance to celebrate our creative spirits with a little dancing (and shopping) in the streets. “We have many new neighbors in the Hudson Valley, Covid refugees from crowded cities, it’s time to see if they can dance,” says Nutley. Stockade Districts merchants and businesses will showcase their shops with specials and entertainment. Food and drink will be available at our established uptown restaurants and bars. The Stockade Faire seeks to increase awareness of the attractiveness and viability of Uptown Kingston as a great place to live, work, shop, socialize and play.
New for 2021 OMG ArtFaire, spearheaded by Janet Hicks, One Mile Gallery, will feature a curated selection of fine art galleries who represent artists working in photography, painting, sculpture, mixed media, video, and digital. StockadeFaire/OMG Art Faire will begin with a VIP opening on the evening of September 30th and will remain open to the public through Sunday, October 3rd at the historic Wall Street Music Hall in Kingston’s Stockade “uptown’ area. Between 15 and 20 galleries and artists are expected to exhibit at OMG. Galleries include the Jane Lombard Gallery, Jim Kempner Fine Art, Field Projects, One Mile Gallery, Kenise Barnes Fine Art, 11 Jane Street, Jane Deering Gallery, High Noon Gallery, Theodore Art, BK Projects, Ver Sacrum Fine Art, Cade Tompkins Projects, Soapbox Arts and and Alabama artist collective Gee’s Bend Quilters. Artists Samantha French, Aaron Hauck, Kyle Meyer, Mike King, artist/filmmaker Guy Maddin will be represented at OMG, as well. Artist Jim Watt will perform his multi-dimensional project with jazz musicians, 1000W, at the VIP opening night.
The street vendors will be carefully curated “makers” of the Hudson Valley by James Anthony founder of Phoenicia Flea. Founded in Phoenicia, NY in 2014, Phoenicia Flea is a nomadic market of makers and merchants from the Catskills, Hudson Valley and beyond. Each week Phoenicia Flea comes together at inspiring locations throughout the northeast in celebration of community, culture, small business, and local trade. vendors offer the very best in handcrafted food, drink, jewelry, apparel, accessories, apothecary, housewares, furnishings, curated vintage and more.
Music and Entertainment includes a “Live Music” Stage at John Street and the Crew Love “DJs for Climate Action” Electronic Stage programmed by music producers Eli Goldstein of Soul Clap and Zev Eisenberg of Wolf+Lamb with beats by dynamic international DJ’s and producers. From their legendary Brooklyn corner known as the Marcy Hotel, to the founding of Crew Love and its family of artists and record labels, from the warm winters in electric Miami to the serene nature of upstate New York – it’s always been about the two of them enjoying life, learning to live with each other, and making friends and fans that become part of a growing family. Opening the Crew Love “DJs for Climate Change” Electronic Stage with “Unicorn Disco for Tots” at noon. Designed Sound by White Rabbit Audio by Thomas Russo will amplify beats and tunes through the canyon of North Front Street.
Also on decks to close out the show, the legendary Tedd Patterson. Tedd is renowned worldwide for a signature sound that incorporates an intoxicating blend of contemporary and classic dance music styles. He spins regularly at “Battle Hymn in NYC, House Of Yes in Brooklyn, and he’s a favorite guest with Horse Meat Disco. Amplified beats and tunes will be powered by White Rabbit Audio designed by Thomas Russo.
The StockadeFaire 2021 is expected to attract thousands of people from our Kingston Community, the Hudson Valley, neighboring towns and beyond.

JANET HICKS is the founder of OMG Art Faire, and the Director of One Mile Gallery in
Kingston, New York. Since its opening in 2011, One Mile has become an icon of the Hudson Valley’s creative scene. The gallery shows both local and New York City-based artists in its unique gallery space in a historic building in the Rondout area of Kingston, New York. In addition to One Mile Gallery, is Vice President and Director of Licensing at the Artists Rights Society in New York City.
STOCKADE FAIRE is an annual event taking place in the “Uptown” Stockade area of Kingston, NY. Local businesses come together to highlight Uptown’s thriving community and welcome locals and visitors from afar to shop, feast and peruse the maker’s market curated by Phoenicia Flea.
